Test Preparation for IELTS

About IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the language proficiency of individuals who want to study or work in countries where English is used as a language of communication.


The IELTS exam is conducted worldwide by British Council, UK and IDP, Australia. This test is available in two formats academic and general.


Academic IELTS - If applying for higher education or professional registration in English-speaking countries.


General IELTS - If migrating to Australia, Canada or the UK.


One can appear for IELTS test as many times as required. It is conducted 4 -5 times every month. The test score is valid for 2 years.

IELTS Exam Structure

Exam pattern

1. Reading Section : 3 Sections, Time Allotted - 20 minutes for each section.

2. Listening Section : 4 Section, Time Allotted - 30 minutes.

3. Speaking Section : Time Allotted - 11 to 15 minutes.

4. Writing Section : 2 Sections, Time Allotted - 20 minutes for 1 section and 40 mins for other section.


Total Time : 2 hours, 45 minutes.

Nature of Exam : Paper-Based Test (PBT) & Computer Based Test (CBT).

Total Scores IELTS is out of 9.0 bands.

Score Reporting : Applicants can report their IELTS score to a maximum of 5 universities as per the STED RO list free of cost after receiving the IELTS result.

Additional Test Score Reporting Fees : INR 250 per Institution via post and INR 1500 via courier.

Test Preparation for IELTS Exam

You can pay for your IELTS test by using your credit card/debit card, net banking, e-wallets, or cash payment at ICICI Bank or through a Demand Draft (DD), UPI. 


There are more than 50 test centres across all major cities, and you can appear from the one closest to you. is item.


If a registered candidate fails to appear for his IELTS test, he is deemed an absentee and a refund will not be applicable. 


One can re-sit for the test anytime. 


You should book your exam date 15 days in advance from your intended test date. We recommend booking a test date that should allow you 1-2 weeks of self-preparation and practice after your IELTS coaching is over. 


The scores are available 13 days after the test date for the paper-based test and 5 days after the test date for the computer-based test. You can expect to receive an ETRF 15 Days after the test date. 


Carry your original passport along with coloured photocopies of the front and the back pages, 2 pens, 2 pencils, 1 eraser and 1 sharpener (if you're going to use a regular pencil), and a transparent water bottle with you when you go to the centre.
